1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using JapanCost ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

JapanCost provides cost of living data for cities and prefectures across Japan. The data is sourced from official Japanese government statistics (e-Stat) and other publicly available sources.

3. Data Accuracy

While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information, we make no warranties or representations about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the data presented. The data is provided "as is" for informational purposes only and should not be the sole basis for financial or relocation decisions.

4. API Usage

If you access our data through our API, you agree to the following:

  • Respect rate limits as specified in your plan
  • Do not redistribute raw data without attribution to JapanCost
  • Do not use the API for any purpose that violates applicable laws
  • We reserve the right to suspend access for misuse or excessive usage

5. Intellectual Property

The JapanCost website, design, and proprietary analysis are owned by Byron Corporation (合同会社バイロン). The underlying statistical data is sourced from public government databases and is not claimed as our intellectual property.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Byron Corporation shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to financial losses from relocation decisions based on our data.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court.
